I am an author from Chapel Hill, North Carolina currently living in Paris. My twin brother and I were born in a small French village but grew up in NC, the setting of my debut novel, Slim and The Beast. I studied at the University of Vermont, where I specialized in social theory and Holocaust studies. After studying abroad in Paris, I returned to fall in love and to write a novel.
The novel was shit and the relationship is no longer, but it was the best choice I've ever made. I wrote Slim and The Beast immediately afterwards, and have called Paris my home ever since. In 2013 I earned an MA from University College London (UCL), where I studied Nazism and Viktor Frankl's 'will to meaning' theory in preparation/research for my third novel.
My debut novel (though technically the 2nd), Slim and The Beast, was published by Inkshares, a San Francisco-based crowdfunded publishing house, in February, 2015. I raised over $10,000 thanks to 232 'backers' who pre-ordered the novel. I am proud to say I have sold over 1,000 copies now. For the rest of my publishing career, I will be indebted to all of those people who have supported me from the outset.
Mama always said, "If you can't say somethin' useful on Twitter, don't say anythin at all." But then I looked up definition of "to twitter."
